Welcome to the Newbridge CCE website.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann was formed in 1951 with the aim of promoting traditional Irish music and culture around the world.
The Newbridge branch of Comhaltas has been operating successfully in the area since 1977. The founding committee consisted of:
Chairperson - James Bradley
Vice Chairperson - Joe McErlain
Secretary - Isobel McPeake
Treasurer - Willie Gribbin (deceased)
Willie Toal (deceased), John James Nugent, Joe Donnelly (deceased), Jean McNeil, Susan Garvin & John Murphy.
Through the combined efforts of the working committee, members and attendees, Newbridge CCE has, over the years, hosted many events. Examples include two county fleadhs, monthly music sessions, singing sessions, ceilis, workshops and various traditional music/singing and Irish language classes.
We are currently running classes in tin whistle, banjo/mandolin, fiddle and concertina. In addition, between October and May, sessions are held on the first Thursday of each month, alternating between The Elk and The Thatch. Other events, such as singing sessions, youth sessions and workshops in music, song and language are held throughout the year.
